FAQs
Q: Who can participate in the Global Re-Source Funding recycling program?
A: Anyone can participate. Examples of current groups include schools, churches, businesses, organizations, teams, GS/BS troops, individuals and non-profits.
Q: What will I recieve after I sign up with Global Re-Source Funding?
A: Within 2-3 business days, an email with your account # will be sent to the email address with which you enrolled. Within 5-7 business days, a starter packet will be sent to your listed contact person that includes information about the program, current promotions and contests, shipping instructions, current accepted items and pre-paid shipping labels.
Q: How much can we expect to receive from our shipments?
A: This amount varies based on the number and types of cartridges and cell phones collected. Qualifying cartridges/ cell phone/ iPod/ laptop prices vary from $.05 to $100 depending on the model. Price lists are constantly updated under "Price and Order Information."
Q: Are all cartridges accepted by GRF?
A: Unfortunately, no. A list of accepted items is listed under "Price and Order Information" and is contstantly updated. We work hard to find a way to recycle every cartridge in a way that is economical for us and our participating groups. If a cartridge isn't currently being remanufactured, we usually cannot pay for it. Please contact your local recycling company for a method of proper disposal for these cartridges. Sending them to us only drives down the amount we can pay for accepted items due to high shipping costs. Please do not send cartridges that are not on our list.
Also, items that are broken or damaged will recieve no credit unless specified in the part number. Exception is for non-working cell phones--as long as they are not physically broken they will recieve listed credit. View our shipping instructions for tips on proper packaging and shipping.
Q: When will we recieve payment for our shipments?
A: Checks are sent out the month after a shipment is received, with a minimum account balance of $25. If a shipment earns less than that, that amount will be added onto the next shipment until your account reaches $25. Example: A shipment recieved in September will be paid out in the month of November as long as the total, or combined total from previous shipments, is equal to or greater than $25.
Q: What is a remanufactured cartridge (Non-Virgin) and how can I tell?
A: Remanufactured, or non-virgin, means that a cartridge has been recycled and refilled previously. They typically have a sticker that says "compatible with..." or "replaces...", or no identifying sticker at all. It may also have a sticker that is not a OEM manufacturer's brand (HP, Brother, Cannon, Dell, etc.), but instead is Office Depot, Laser Express, Staples, Premier, etc.
Q: Do you accept Toner Bottles? How can I tell what a toner bottle is?
A: No. Toner bottles are not recyclable.
Toner bottles are typically clear, tubular bottles that the toner is emptied out into the printer/copier. All qualifying cartridges have a rolling drum (tubular) and moving cover.
Q: How do I set up a password or set up access to be able to log in to YOUR ACCOUNT to print shipping labels/ view account history?
